I’m Megan. I’m a
first second year medical student, and I’m convinced that I can cook and eat my way to an M.D.
I am a firm believer that if my belly is not happy, my brain is not happy. So far, I’ve passed all of my classes while cooking and eating to my belly’s content, so I think I must be doing something right.

I’m a beach and sun-loving Californian who is finding herself bizarrely displaced in the Midwest for the next (crossing my fingers) three and a half years. I’ve called the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and now Saint Louis my home. But I have found that home is wherever I can make and eat the things that I love in my own kitchen. I grew up completely spoiled on my amazing mom’s cooking, and her creativity in feeding myself and my two younger brothers throughout our childhoods continues to inspire me to treat myself well.
My friends and family and classmates always ask me how in the world I can eat so well and be a medical student at the same time. I don’t think that being a busy student and eating well has to be mutually exclusive. I hope the recipes on this blog can help dispel the myth that you have to have endlessly expendable time to cook and eat well. Most of my recipes are uncomplicated and easy to follow and don’t require too many brain cells to put together. Sometimes the biggest barriers to cooking at home are learning how to be smart about grocery shopping and figuring out how to be efficient with what you do cook. So what I’ll also be doing with this blog is to try to incorporate tips on ingredients to buy and how you can make them versatile in your kitchen, as well as tips on how to save time (and sanity).
